The United States State Department has approved the expansion and construction of a tar sands pipeline called Alberta Clipper, an equivalent to Keystone XL.

Enbridge, the company constructing the pipeline, has operated in relative obscurity in the last several months with little if any news coverage, and even less opportunity for opponents to voice their concerns.
